THE DOUBLE EXPOSURE PROJECT - PERSIMMONS
THIS INSTALLMENT SHOWCASES THE UNIQUE CRAFTSMANSHIP AND COLOR OF HISTORICAL PERSIMMON WOODS THROUGH MULTIPLE EXPOSED FILM. TO SIMPLIFY MULTIPLE EXPOSURE, I DO NOT ADVANCE THE FILM FRAME FROM 1 TO 2 TO 3 ETC... I EXPOSE ONE FRAME MULTIPLE TIMES. IT STARTED WITH EXPOSING A FRAME TWICE (DOUBLE EXPOSURE) THEN I EXPERIMENTED WITH MORE AND MORE EXPOSURES. ALL OF THESE PHOTOS WERE SHOT ON KODAK EKTAR & PORTRA 120 FILM. I DID NOT USE ANY FILTERS OR PHOTOSHOP TO CREATE THESE IMAGES. THE CONCEPT STARTS WITH AN IDEA, A ROUGH IS SKETCHED OUT ON PAPER, THEN I USE BASIC MATH TO COME UP WITH THE COMPENSATION FOR THE EXPOSURE. I AVERAGE 2 USEABLE PHOTOS PER ROLL OF FILM (15 SHOTS.) THE PERSIMMON WOODS WERE PROVIDED BY LINKSOUL IN OCEANSIDE, CALIFORNIA.
ALL OF THESE IMAGES ARE AVAILABLE FOR PRINTS ON FINE ART PAPER, CANVAS, METAL, AND ACRYLIC.
PLEASE EMAIL YOUR SELECTION rusty@photobyrusty.com WITH DOUBLE EXPOSURE AS THE SUBJECT LINE.
